Michael Jon Cohen, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Michael is the senior and Founding Partner of Vascular Specialists of Central Florida Inc. (VSCF). Dr. Cohen is a graduate of Swarthmore College and attended the Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating in 1977. He did his General Surgical training at the University of Wisconsin Clinical Science Center in Madison, serving as Chief Resident in 1982. After a Fellowship at the Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary in England, he returned to Ohio, completing his Vascular Fellowship at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, in 1985. He has been with VSCF since 1986.
In his over 20 years in Orlando, Dr. Cohen has served on a multitude of Quality of Care Committees, and was Chairman of the Department of Surgery, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) from 1997 to 2001. Dr Cohen serves on the Operating Room Governance Team at ORMC. He has been a member of the Florida Medical Association Sub-Committee on Medical Experts, and is currently serving his third consecutive term as Chairman of the Section of Vascular Surgery at ORMC. He also was recently appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Central Florida. Dr. Cohen was Board Certified in General Surgery in 1984, and Re-Certified in 1993. In 1990, he was Board Certified with Special Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery, and Re-Certified in 1999. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Cohen is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, the Florida Vascular Society, and is a founding member of the International Society for Vascular Surgery. |

Charles S. Thompson, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Charles is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a graduate of the University of Florida. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami in 1993 and performed his general surgery and vascular surgery training at Louisiana State Medical Center in New Orleans. Recognized as the outstanding intern at Charity Hospital on the LSU service, he also received the outstanding teaching award by the LSU medical school's Aesculapian Society two years in a row. He pursued specialty training in endovascular procedures at the prestigious Arizona Heart Institute and was awarded the Cardiovascular Fellow's Award in 2001. Dr. Thompson is board certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Thompson has authored over 25 scientific articles and has given presentations at regional, national, and international medical conferences. He has participated in numerous research trials using new devices and techniques for the treatment of vascular diseases including abdominal aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, stem cell research and venous disease. Dr. Thompson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Florida Vascular Society and the International Society for Endovascular Specialists.
Dr. Thompson was instrumental in creating the endovascular surgery program at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He has performed over 3000 endovascular procedures and over 300 aortic stent graft procedures. He has served as a proctor for many physicians in endovascular techniques and is an advisor for device development. Dr. Thompson is a member of the board of directors of Remote Medicine and has volunteered abroad providing medical care in South and Central America. |

Jon M. Wesley, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Jon attained his medical degree at the University of Miami in Miami Florida. He completed his general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. with two years dedicated to intensive research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Dr Wesley went on to complete specialty training in vascular surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, WI. He subsequently held a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin before joining Vascular Specialists of Central Florida.
Dr Wesley received numerous awards during his training and has scientific articles published in major peer-reviewed journals. He has also given presentations at national scientific forums. As a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, he is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery. He is a founding member of the International Vascular Surgical Society. |

Adam B. Levitt, M.D., RVT, F.A.C.S.
Adam graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland and from Tufts University School of Medicine with high honors. Prior to entering the University of Maryland, Dr. Levitt served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. He did his General Surgery Residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and was the Chief Administrative Resident in 1996-1997. He was awarded the John Kesheshian Award for Excellence in Vascular Surgery, and was awarded for being the "Top Resident" at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Levitt then pursued his Vascular Fellowship at Atlanta Medical Center and did a one year fellowship at the American Cardiovascular Research Institute. He has published articles in Journal of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Trauma, Journal of American College of Surgery and has also given presentations internationally. Dr. Levitt pursued specialty training in Endovascular procedures at the prestigious Arizona Heart Institute training with Edward B. Dietrich, MD. Dr. Levitt is Board Certified in both General and Vascular Surgery. He also did additional training in non-invasive diagnostic vascular imaging and is a Registered Vascular Technologist.
Dr. Levitt is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Vascular Surgery, Southern Association of Vascular Surgery, Edward B. Dietrich Vascular Society, International Society of Endovascular Specialists and the Florida Medical Association. |
